It’s already week six of Q’sTips. This week I’m bringing up a playlist of some of the greatest songs from the 60’s. I really enjoy 60’s music, mainly the jukebox songs, and thought that
all of you would enjoy it as well. This past weekend SMCRFC played at St.
Anslem’s against the Falcons and we won 34-5. It was a great game to play in
and watch as we get ready to go to National Playoffs this upcoming weekend.
On to the tips:
- When you have a stuffy nose and don’t want to buy a box of tissues, get a half roll of toilet paper and bring it around in your backpack. No one wants to listen to you suck your boogers back up into your nose.
- Stop looking forward to all of the big events; it's the smaller events that you sometimes have the most fun at.
- Use two different colored writing utensils when taking notes, one for class notes and the other for homework notes, to tell the difference between them easier.
- Don’t use q-tips on babies because they can’t handle the awesomeness of cotton on a stick, and that’s what the instructions on the box say.
- If you’re not sure why an electrical device isn’t working, make sure to see if it’s plugged in all the way; that can be the easiest solution to your problem.
- Get as many free things as you can, but make sure you are somewhat selective.
- Pack a pair of sunglasses in every location where you would be looking toward the sun. Protect yourself before you wreck yourself.
- If somewhere posts a “no running” sign, but you still need to get somewhere fast, skip. Skipping is not running and is the loophole to the rule.
- Go exploring in familiar places, sometimes you can find the coolest things that you hadn’t seen all of the numerous times you’d been there before.
- Get to class early to assert your dominance and get your favorite seat. You can also let the professor know you are excited and ready to learn if you show up before they arrive.
Just a casual roll of toilet paper for when my nose gets too stuffy. |
I obviously took more notes in class than when I read it myself |
I am ready to face the sun in any location |
I hope you all followed the tips
from last week’s Halloween show. I definitely did. My best costume was dressing
up as Sophia Grace and Rosie, from the Ellen Show, with my friend Suze. We were
made our own costume and were easy to recognize. Check out how fabulous we look.
I’ve really enjoyed listening to music from the 60’s. I find that it is much happier, uplifting, and has a much better message than the songs produced today. I’m more likely to listen to songs on an already set playlist; there are some that seemed to all go together. If you don’t listen to the 60’s often, I hope this inspires you to listen to more great songs.
Make sure you stop by the
International Festival this weekend in the Tarrent Athletic Center to learn
other cultures and try new foods. Some of our international students will be
preforming and creating dishes from all over the world.
Food, dancing, and music. What more can you ask for? |
One last thing:
This week for rugby we are going to be hosting the first round of National Playoffs against University of Hartford. If you want to see a great game make sure you come over to the 300’s field on Saturday, November 9 at 1pm. We love having the support and hope to see you there.
Now you can learn some of the dances from the 60's to dance to all of these songs to.
